Application Process

Grades 1–4

First through Fourth Grades

Applying to transfer to Brandeis between Kindergarten and Middle School is a big decision, whether you are new to the city or simply looking for a school that better suits your child's learning style and temperament. Our admissions process is carefully designed to ensure that Brandeis feels like the right fit for each family while setting students up for a seamless transition when they arrive.

  • INQUIRE

    Thank you for your interest in The Brandeis School of San Francisco! We invite you to begin the admissions process at Brandeis by inquiring online. Once you inquire, our Office of Admissions will contact you. 
  • VISIT

    Parents are encouraged to visit the Brandeis campus as part of the application process. Click here to learn more about our event schedule and/or feel free to contact the Admissions office if you have questions about scheduling a tour.
  • APPLY

    Nearly every step of the application process may be completed by logging into MyBrandeis. You must have already completed an inquiry form in order to begin the process. 

    A completed application consists of the application form, student evaluation (and student records including report cards from the last two years), a $100 non-refundable application fee, and a recent photo of the applicant. Once you have completed the application and we have received the required documents, we will contact you to schedule a student visit and parent interview. 

    NOTE: Our priority application deadline for Fall 2024 is Friday, January 12, 2024. Families who submit an application by this date will receive a decision on Thursday, March 14, 2024, in accordance with the guidelines recommended by the ISSFBA (Independent Schools Of The San Francisco Bay Area). Applications received after the priority deadline will be considered if space is available.

  • STUDENT EVALUATION FORM/STUDENT RECORDS

    Please click here to access the confidential student evaluation form. You may email the evaluation form directly to the teacher(s) and/or print, sign, and complete the top portion of the form and give it to your child's current teacher(s) to return to Brandeis

    We also require the applicant's report cards, narrative reports, and standardized tests from the past two years, as well as any other pertinent information.

    Please complete the top portion of the records release form and give to the applicant's school so that these documents can be sent to Brandeis.

  • STUDENT VISIT

    Student visits are a required part of the application process. We will contact you to schedule the visit once the application and all required documents are received.

  • PARENT/GUARDIAN MEETING

    Parent meetings are a required part of the application process, and will be scheduled after the completed application and all required documents have been submitted. The parent meeting is the final step in the application process.

    3. Apply online at MyBrandeis. (Please note that you must login to apply. If you have inquired with us, but have never logged in to our site, click here to obtain your MyBrandeis username and password.)

    4. After you have submitted your application and required documents, we will contact you to schedule a parent/guardian interview and a student visit. 

    5. Apply for tuition assistance (if applicable).
