Jonathan Ferris

Jonathan Ferris is the Judaic Studies & Hebrew teacher for Kindergarten and will begin his 25th year of teaching at Brandeis in 2023. Jonathan also serves as the Tefillah Coordinator for all grades. A past recipient of the Diller Award for Excellence in Jewish Day School Teaching, Jonathan earned a Certificate in Day School Teaching from Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles as part of the DeLeT Program. He holds a multiple subject credential and a single subject teaching credential in music, and has been involved musically with both Congregation Emanu-El and Camp Tawonga since the early 1990s. Jonathan has two children, Lilah and Reuben, who are Brandeis alumni. In his spare time, Jonathan loves to create music with others, spend time with his family (including two crazy dogs) and backpack in the Sierras.
