Humanities Academic Coach, ERB Consultant, Middle School
The 2021-22 academic year marks David’s 41st year of teaching at Brandeis. During his tenure, he has served as Dean of Faculty, Hazon Enrichment Coordinator, and has helped to create and sustain our innovative Middle School Humanities curriculum, including the popular “Quaranzines” arts elective and the Kinship Project, which he co-authored with his colleague Jennifer Baumer. He has also written educational material for several national publishers, and is currently serving as an academic coach for the middle school humanities team and is teaching a zine arts elective. Additionally, David is our resident ERB expert, helping faculty and parents understand and make good use of standardized testing results. David was named a Barder Fellow through Johns Hopkins in 2016 and was a featured poet at Litquake. He is proud to have been selected as the “World’s Best Dodgeball Player” by the Class of 2021.
