Faculty and Staff Defeat Eighth Graders in Annual Faculty/Staff vs. Students Basketball Game

This afternoon, the entire student body and staff surrounded the blue top during the last hour of the day to enjoy a long-standing tradition—the annual year-end faculty vs. eighth grade basketball game. The weather was chilly and overcast, but the players brought the heat, and the Student Community Board (SCB) provided popsicles to all of the student spectators. The students’ team was comprised of both eighth grade boys and girls who volunteered to take on the faculty. It was an exciting contest, with the students charging out to a 7–0 lead. Momentum shifted, and it was neck-and-neck the rest of the game. It came down to the wire, and the faculty/staff team prevailed 43–40.

“This game is a great tradition!” exclaims teacher and SCB advisor Ali Frank. “It brings the whole school community together for an afternoon of exciting play. The younger students look forward to playing in the game when they are in middle school. As a teacher, I really enjoy cheering on my colleagues—we really do enjoy the opportunity to get out on the court and play some ball too!” MORE PHOTOS
