Middle Schoolers Respond to the Tragedy in Pittsburgh

In the days following the middle school assembly in response to the tragic events in Pittsburgh, our seventh-grade students decided to create memorials that would honor the victims and express their hopes for a peaceful future. In their artwork, our seventh graders express their wishes for a time when everyone’s religion, skin color, gender, and sexual orientation are honored equally and for a time when all humanity can unite across countries throughout the world.

Our eighth graders honored the eleven Jews who lost their lives by creating a memorial wall in the middle school. Students shared photos and a short paragraph about each of the individuals. You are welcome to visit the middle school to see the students’ work.

Please take a moment to write a letter of healing and solidarity, which will be hand-delivered to the Pittsburgh JFCS by one of our alumni on November 21.
