Girls' Varsity Basketball Makes Strong Playoffs Appearance

This week, our varsity girls' basketball game competed in two tough BAIAL playoff games, facing off in the first round against Hamlin and against Burke's in the championship. Monday's game against Hamlin was a thriller, with the teams exchanging baskets for much of the evening. Brandeis was able to pull away with the victory, winning 29-25. The win catapulted the team to the championship game last night—the first girls’ varsity basketball championship game Brandeis had competed in. While they did not come out victorious, it was a strong showing by our Lions. Says Corrie Mizusawa, athletics director and girls' varsity basketbal coach, “Congratulations to our team for an outstanding season. What I love most about these girls is their passion for the game, work ethic, and never-quitting attitude, attributes that hopefully have inspired our entire community.”
