Seventh Grade-Led Car Wash Raises Money for Tzedek Fund

On Thursday, March 30 during parent-teacher conferences, seventh grade students hosted a waterless car wash in the parking lot to raise money for their Tzedek Fund. “This was a student-driven project that was carried out with the help of parents and Brandeis support staff,” explains teacher Allison Stine. “On the day of the car wash, the students really took charge and did all of the work organizing the event and washing cars.” In total, the seventh grade class raised $781! This money will be part of the Tzedek Fund, which seventh graders will allocate next month to various nonprofit organizations.

Seventh grade student organizers Gabby L.-M. and Myles S. commented proudly, “The car wash exceeded our expectations and we had fun doing it! We are so happy to be able to contribute to this amazing cause [the Tzedek Fund].” Adds Ms. Stine, “The students did a great job. They were productive, polite, and did an excellent job sharing responsibility. On top of it all, they had a lot of fun! What more could I ask for as their teacher?” MORE PHOTOS
