Student-created Mural Installed in Media Resource Center

Over the Passover break, teacher David Starfas and facilities assistant Aaron McCullogh installed a beautiful student-created mural on the wall in the media resource center (MRC). Since the beginning of the school year, middle school students in Mr. Starfas’s mural elective have been working to create this mural of the San Francisco skyline. Once the students completed the work of drawing the buildings and trees, they invited the entire student body and faculty to participate in its creation. Lower school students created the stars, while middle school advisories worked together to create the birds.

Says Head of School Dr. Dan Glass, “It’s been thrilling to watch Mr. Starfas and his middle school elective engage imaginatively with this beautiful landscape of San Francisco, and then invite the entire school into the shared work of representing our wonderful city via the mural. The incredible final product is a testament to their collaborative and creative spirits!”

Thank you to Mr. Starfas for guiding our students and student body and to Mr. McCullogh for his help in installing the piece.
