Athletics Banquet Caps Strong Year

Brandeis athletics celebrated another highly successful year, as athletes, parents, and coaches gathered last night to honor and commend the accomplishments of our Brandeis athletes.

  • Boys' 5th Grade Basketball - C.Y.O. League Champions
  • Girls' Varsity Basketball - C.Y.O. Tournament Champions
  • Boys' 6th Basketball - C.Y.O. League 2nd Place Finish
  • Girls' Varsity Basketball - B.A.I.A.L. 2nd Place Finish
  • Boys' Varsity Volleyball - B.A.I.A.L. 2nd Place Finish
  • Girls' 5th Grade Basketball - C.Y.O. League Champions
Athletics Director Corrie Mizusawa recognized Brandeis's strong program, and coaches for each sport presented the awards of MVP, Most Improved, and Lion. In addition to team awards, Coach Corrie presented the Iron Lion Award to eighth graders Aidan S. and Rachel T. The Iron Lion is awarded to one male student athlete and one female student athlete who have participated in at least two sports during their eighth grade year and have demonstrated enthusiastic school spirit, strong sportsmanship, outstanding leadership skills, and an extraordinary work ethic. Past Iron Lion Award winners—Daniella D., '10; Adam D., '12; Jordan K., '13, Mitchell K., '15; and Chloe T., '15—were invited to speak about their athletics experiences, both at Brandeis and in high school.
