Brandeis Celebrates Purim Beatles-style!

Today is Purim and what better way for our community to celebrate than with schoolwide activities, including a costume parade, carnival, mishloach manot (gifts of food for friends) exchange, and a Beatles-themed spiel? The rain didn't stop our students from parading their costumes in front of their peers. Students came dressed as everything from princesses and pirates to Harry Potters and Legos to even a San Francisco Painted Lady. Following the parade, grade levels cycled through a series of Purim activities, including an art project titled, “Sargent Pepper's Shushan Hearts Club Band,” where students created figures of themselves which were placed on the bulletin board in the main hallway to create Sargent Pepper’s Shushan party. In the afternoon, eighth graders performed their singalong Purim spiel, featuring all of our favorite characters reimagined as the Beatles! It was a great day of fun and celebration for our entire school community. MORE PHOTOS
