Artist Ned Kahn Demonstrates Ethical Creativity in Artwork
The entire student body was treated to a special guest at the Friday, December 2 all-school assembly when artist Ned Kahn came to speak and show his artwork. “With the opening of the CREATE and BUILD spaces and our goal of teaching ethical creativity to our students, we invited Ned Kahn, whose artwork provides concrete examples of ethical creativity,” says Director of Lower School Jenny Rinn.
There were many “oohs” and “ahhs” as Kahn, who was introduced to the students by Associate Director of Education at the Contemporary Jewish Museum (CJM) Janine Okmin, showed videos of his artwork:
Rain Oculus in Singapore;
Air Field at Denver International Airport;
Feather Wall at Green Clinical Pavilion in San Antonio; and many more. Kahn explained how he uses natural occurrences (wind, fog, water, light, etc.) to replicate forms and forces of nature.
At the end of the talk, students asked many questions of Kahn, including, “How long will your art be at the CJM?” The answer: Through January 8, 2017. For more information about Kahn’s
