Brandeis Mourns the Passing of Arthur Gauss
The Brandeis School of San Francisco's community is mourning the loss of Arthur Gauss z'l, who passed away on August 26, 2017. Art Gauss was an ardent supporter of our school, and our building designated The Frank and Jennie Gauss Campus bears the names of his parents. In addition, Art and his wife, Mimi, established the Arthur and Mimi Gauss Scholarship Fund at Brandeis in 2013. Mimi Gauss currently serves on the Brandeis Board of Trustees and also served on the board in the 1990s.
“Art and Mimi and the Gauss family have embodied a commitment to the Jewish community and Jewish education,” says Head of School Dr. Dan Glass. “Brandeis would not be what it is today without Art Gauss and his family. The fact that Art and Mimi are so connected as leaders and volunteers says all you need to know about them.”
He was the parent of two Brandeis alumni, Ilana (class of 1990) and Ari (class of 1988). Our condolences to his family. May his memory be a blessing.
