As part of our Hebrew language and culture studies, the students took part in a hands-on cooking activity where they explored delicious recipes—all while using their Hebrew vocabulary in a real-world setting. From reading recipes and writing lists of ingredients to giving instructions in Hebrew, the children turned their kitchens into classrooms full of learning and excitement.
When they were done, they had to share their work with a partner and practice presenting their work in class. Students learning from each other they came up with a range of different recipes and meal ideas.
To make it even more special, the students filmed themselves cooking at home, narrating the steps and sharing their creations in Hebrew. They created amazing videos that showcased not only their culinary talents but also their growing confidence in speaking Hebrew. These videos were filled with personality, humor, and lots of delicious food! We watch everyone's video during class. A few students brought their cooking dish to class to share with everyone. It was very entertaining and all the students did an amazing job! The results were both heartwarming and fun, and I couldn’t be prouder of their effort, creativity and excitement about the whole process.
