Second Annual Track and Field Day Builds Upon Success of Inaugural Event in New Venue

The 2nd annual Brandeis Lag B’Omer Maccabiah Track and Field Day took place today. The entire school community gathered at Kezar Stadium for a fun-packed day of games, sports, and activities. “Kezar is the Mecca of venues we have as options for this day,” exclaims teacher and event co-organizer Sam Dossick, “so it was even more exciting because we were on an official track in this awesome venue!” Students in kindergarten through eighth grade participated in a series of age-appropriate stations—everything from tag, hula hoop, bean bag toss, and limbo for the younger students to the 100-yard dash, 4x100-yard relay race, tug of war, and the one-mile run for the older students.

“The most important aspect of this day is being together as a school community,” adds Mr. Dossick. “It was great seeing students come together, interact with new friends, and hang out with their buddies outside the classroom. And to bring in the aspect of athleticism and fitness makes for a fun-filled day for everyone.” MORE PHOTOS
