Athletics Banquet Caps Strong Year
Brandeis athletics celebrated another highly successful year, as athletes, parents, and coaches gathered last night to honor and commend the accomplishments of our Brandeis athletes.

Girls’ JVA Volleyball – BAIAL playoffs
Boys’ JV Volleyball – BAIAL playoffs
Boys’ Varsity Basketball – CYO 2nd Place Finish
Girls’ JVA Basketball – BAIAL playoffs; advanced to CYO championship tonight
Girls’ Varsity Basketball – BAIAL Champions and CYO Champions (first time in school history to win two championships in a year; first time in school history winning a BAIAL varsity championship)
Boys’ JV Basketball – CYO Champions
Boys’ 5th Grade Basketball – CYO Champions
Athletics Director Corrie Mizusawa recognized Brandeis's strong program, and coaches for each sport presented the awards of MVP, Most Improved, and Lion. In addition to team awards, Coach Corrie presented the Iron Lion Award to eighth graders Oliver S.-P. and Izzy K. The Iron Lion is awarded to one male student athlete and one female student athlete who have participated in at least two sports during their eighth grade year and have demonstrated enthusiastic school spirit, strong sportsmanship, outstanding leadership skills, and an extraordinary work ethic. Past Iron Lion Award winners Mitchell K. ’15, Chloe T. ’15, Mira T. ’16, and Rachel T. ’17 were invited to speak about their athletics experiences, both at Brandeis and in high school.
